Since Easter is around the corner, I was looking for ideas to get my nieces involved in the celebrations because they’re only a fan of the treats that come with this day (can’t blame them hahaha). I came across this blog that spoke about a chocolate scavenger hunt. I knew this was something they’d definitely enjoy so I decided to make handmade eggs for the event. But of course, needed to test it out first so I tried a batch a few days back. Found a good recipe and added some delicious peanut butter for some extra flavour. Everything was looking good & I turned up the heat for melting the chocolate and like an idiot got distracted by a work thing and forgot to monitor it. No surprise what happened after. I’m trying again today & hopefully, this time won’t get distracted.

I'd recommend using a double boiler set up for melting chocolate. Basically just a large metal bowl set over a pot with an inch or so water. This heats the chocolate much more gently than in the pan itself. Note that despite the name, the water shouldn't actually boil.
