Hi everyone! I have been a lurker here for some time, but a new member of the forum.
I would like to get into chocolate making but can't afford to buy a melanger at this time. Has anyone used finely powdered "confectioner's sugar" instead of table sugar? My intuition would lead me to believe that doing so would eliminate the need for the melanger.
You of course would still need to finely grind the chocolate beans and add sugar to the mix, but you might be able to use a grinder or juicer and get a fine enough texture.
Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Roger

Hi Roger , am no expert but i can only say this question has been answered many times with the answer no, it doesnot work becouse chances are you will get one loaded with cornstarch ,powder it yourself in bits in the blender or what ever can powder suger . if you have special connections to get one that is especially made without 'cornstarch and otherstaffs'! then oh ya go ahead use it.

Thanks cocoaffee! Since I have a pretty decent grinder, I think I'll try it. Just wish there was a source for a less expensive melaner.
