I generally temper without seed in my Chocovision V, but I was wondering, if once it's tempered, if I only moved 50% of the bowls contents into moulds, and then refilled with untempered chocolate (probably around 45C) without changing the settings, would I end up with tempered chocolate again in say 20 (or whatever) minutes? I'm just trying to work out if I should upgrade to a bigger machine or work out a way to more efficiently use my current machine, which only takes 4kg, where as I need to go through about 10kg a day sometimes, and it's time consuming to keep running through the cycle 3 times.

Since this threads been bumped, I thought I'd mention I actually ended up using a small percentage of sunflower oil.

I have the 2 litre versions too, the tilting one, I'll probably buy a 3rd soon. I never put less than 3kg in it, and have often put 4.5kg based on other peoples experience in here Unfortunately I've discovered today that my chain upgrade one has worn down the cog on it after using it for 2 months, I'm not sure why, perhaps just not enough oil on the chain, or maybe the alignment wasn't right. I'm no engineer

I've managed to fit one of these 10mm belts pictured above onto a premier, but it can't handle a full 4.5kg load. Although an 8mm belt would be better, they don't seem to exist in that size.

Does anyone know if you can get one of these belts to fit the Premiers? I purchased a 10mm wide one but it was too big (oops!)

I'm moving into the summer period here and will probably need to buy a small aircon unit. I'll probably sit it next to my tempering machine and direct the airflow at it

Oh wow, I've never seen that before. I have no idea how the plastic cog would have worn away the steel one.

Cool, obviously the main goal is to get cocoa butter to use in my chocolate for a more truer single origin, but of course I'm then left with cocoa solids. Do you find yours is dry enough for cocoa powder with the machine you have?

With a coffee grinder you will be able to make a somewhat gritty paste, but not a smooth liquid

I guess I could rig something up to heat it, but I was more thinking would something like this simply lack the power to create enough pressure? Would just be good to know i anyone has any first hand experience. Of course $200 for one like you have is totally affordable, but if I can do something without electricity, I prefer to.

Has anyone ever tried anything like this? www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00O60PJLA/ (It's a hand powered screw) It lists cocoa beans as one of the things it can extract oil from

I'm no mechanic, so I have no idea if different chain types produce different noise amounts. Also the drive cog doesn't quite fit right, it's misaligned by 1mm as I got the bore hole the wrong size, that probably effects noise too.

In a nutshell... SO MUCH LOUDER. It makes the belt driven version sound silent.
I don't have a device to measure the sound level, so I can only sort of make example guesses, but it's not as loud as a vacuum cleaner. It's maybe as loud as a washing machine on full spin perhaps.

This is how I am prolonging the life of one of my belts now Excuse all the grease and grime! I really must give it a good clean sometime.
