Hi all,
How much are you spending on the packaging for a bar?
We are wrapping in foil, then a printed paper band around that. We are using the same glue sticks our kids use. A better applicator would be great.
I am paying about 28 cents/piece of foil.
Then we need to put bars into a cardboard box for local delivery. ($0.60)
Then put that case into some sort of thermo lined box for shipment. ($1.25)
So a case of 12 bars in a box in a box costs me about $5 in packaging. Not including handling and wrapping time.
is that in the ballpark of what you guys are looking at?

I got foils at $.06/foil. But I recently switched to resealable plastic bags.

Yeah, we're in the 3-5 cent range for foils. Also using glue sticks, though we've tried a bunch of other options.
Are you guys printing on the paper band or using stickers? Doing color printing on the band is what's driving our price way up.
We want to use biodegradable or recyclable packaging, but would love to have some resealable or that didn't involve as much wrapping time per bar.
