Hi I recently stumbled across an auction for one of these (http://www.ketana.net/showproducts.asp?pid=45&CID=3&volts=230) It is a wet grinder designed for making Indian foods, but would it be suitable for chocolate making, with a few modifications of course! I was planning to insert a computer fan and drill a few holes.
Any comments appreciated, Thanks

Mr. Fish;
You've more or less stumbled on another version of the Santha, or the CocoaTown Melangeur - both of which were designed for exactly the same purpose.
Apparently the one you posted doesn't have a belt, so maybe it will work better....
Either way, I'm confident it will work in a similar fashion.
Cheers. Brad

If you do use this. let us know how it goes. The vertical nature is interesting. I would like to hear more about it.

That thing looks totally cool! direct drive makes so much sense and the tipping factor is dreamy ( I type with chocolate covered hands and stained shirts) The base looks like it could be beefed up a little and the stones look kind of rough and the price is too low but I like it! I hope someone gets one, uses it and reports back! Is it only $103.00 USD? Or is my conversion from INR to USD totally off?
