I ran into a problem. I was cleaning my Santha and dropped the bowl. It cracked the hub so that only one of the rollers can now attach.
Questions
1) My liquor has been made...how long can I keep it without melanging it? I need to order a replacement part and it might not get out to me for a week or so. Will the liquor still be good...should I throw it out? Refrigerate?
2) If I do process it in the melanger without the second roller will it still work and just melange slower? Or will it not melange at all?
I would hate for 20 dollars in liquor to go to waste. Just insult to injury at this point. Frustrated.

1) stored cold, dark and dry - lets say 9 months. 2) possibly. depends on how much damage the unit as a whole sustained. it might be very unbalanced.

That's great news. I didn't drop the actual melanger but I did drop the bowl. I'm hoping I didn't do a bunch of damage...small ding to the bowl and the hub damage.

In case you're interested, I have a billet aluminum hub and cap for the Santha that I purchased from John. I since moved on to a stainless version and this is just sitting there. I'll let it go for a fraction of what it cost ($150).

I'll let it go for 50. The billet cap is much stronger than the plastic one. Now, if you have one of the stainless models, it's better that you just purchase the block from John.
