Hello all! I wanted to revisit the small-scale packaging topic for 2021. I am a hobbyist chocolatier - I make small batches of chocolate for myself and my family and friends, just for fun. Sometimes I share the chocolate or give it as gifts, and I'd like it to have a nice presentation - i.e. foodsafe foil wrap and custom printed paper wrap. Nothing too fancy, just another layer of fun. And who knows? Maybe I'll want to start a small side-hustle selling a few bars here and there, but I'm not planning on trying to make a career out of it.
Now, there's plenty of companies doing wrappers that you put on top of already wrapped Hershey bars (I'm not looking for that), and some of the companies that cater to small business offer "small" quantities in the order of thousands of wrappers - I think I saw a business on here advertising they can do a "small" quantity of 100,000. I will not use anything remotely close to 100,000 over the course of my entire life, even if I do start selling. So with that context, does anybody have any suggestions for where to get small amounts - as in dozens or hundreds - of foil wrap and custom labels? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

Try here: aluminumfoil.alufoil.com/category/inner-and-overwrap-chocolate-bar-wrapI only use the inner wrappers (i.e. foil/was paper backed). It will be difficult to find outer packaging at a reasonable price for small quantities. When I first started making bars, I designed and printed my own on my HP printer. However, I had to cut them to size using a Guillotine paper cutter. Just buy a good quality glossy paper and they will look fine. When I wrapped them, I used the appropriate sized address label as tape. This way you can also print the ingredients and other info on the labels. I've attached a photo from several years back. Hope this helps, Thomas

We did exactly the same thing as Thomas for many years. With a good inkjet and a guillotine you'll easily be able to print on demand for thousands of units per month. I'd strongly recommend getting a continuous ink tank printer (e.g. Epson Eco Tank) if you're going to print wrappers yourself, brings the unit cost down way lower than when using cartridges.
