Is it real to Make cacao-beans from cacao-tree? Will the tree grow in normal flat? (The weather is 32 grad of Fahrengeit) When there were chocolate salon in Moscow, the people from Cote-di-Voir sold cacao-trees, but they said that it wouldn't survive. (Why did they sell it??). I think that they sold it as a decorative tree.

How high is your ceiling? From my understanding, they grow pretty tall (~12 ft..4m).. And they really like warm and wet weather and generally grow in the shade of other taller trees.. But others have grown them outside the tropical belt, inside a greenhouse: forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/tropical/msg0720232129198.html

Cacao is a very hot weather plant. It will soon die and will not produce fruit if the temperature drops below 65 degrees F. It needs 80-90 degree weather to prosper, and it needs lots of sun to produce fruit. (It will grow fine with little production in the shade.)
If you grow the plant from a clipped branch, rather than a seed, it makes a very manageable bush suitable for indoor environments. You can control the height by pruning just like with any other garden bush.

Aloha Growing from a seed can be easy. I have found that some varieties grow even in arid conditions. In Kihei Maui I have several trees growing with full crops of pods. All were grown from seed. It took about three years. Now my problem is what to do with the pods and how to process the raw seed any ideas. I have taken to raw seed out of the pod set them in water for three days then planted them and they all germinate.
