I love Mocha.
I am curious, is it possible to roast and brew cocoa and coffee beans together to create a new type of drink?

Although, I dislike to give absolutes (I was told you CAN'T make chocolate at home), I will say - No.
To expand that a bit, I will say I have found no way to do it and the reasons are as follows:
1) Cocoa and coffee roast at radically different temperatures. Cocoa will incinerate at coffee temperatures.
2) Coffee is based off of water extractables
3) Cocoa is based off of oil suspensions.
2+3 means they don't play well together.
When I tried it, all I get (I have experimented A LOT) is watery, muddy coffee - no particular cocoa flavor.
If you try and pull a shot (espresso like) you will stall the puck (water in chocolate = bad).
There are ways to make a fresh mocha, but no simple, turnkey way I have found (so far).

I've got customers who are throwing one or two of my fresh roasted cocoa nibs into their coffee grinder when they brew a pot of coffee. Might be ok if one is using one a whirly-blade grinder, but I wouldn't want to risk gumming up a good burr grinder with cocoa butter.
