Hi, I'm new to the forum and relatively new to chocolate making and I need some advice. I have a small company that's working with larger companies to produce custom collegiate themed chocolates for colleges and universities. Now this is all find and good, but I don't have the time or money to produce the chocolate myself or buy the equipment. Does anyone know of a place where I can give them the recipe, the molds, and then pay for the them to make it? Do you think this would be cheaper than just springing for the equipment and trying to somehow automate the process? I know what your thinking, it isn't actually chocolate making if you don't make the chocolate, and that's true, but I'm a freshman in college, running two businesses, and I simply don't have the time or cash to cook it myself right now. When this thing makes a little more money, the first thing I'm doing is investing in a building and equipment for a factory, but I just don't have enough for that right now. Any advice?

What is the volume?
What are the specs of your PO or Purchase Order?
Are you looking for truffles or bars?
The short answer to your question is yes at this point it sounds like you should probably have someone else do the chocolate preparation and you can focus on sales.

I need 1000 made in increments 110.
This number may fluctuate though. I also need samples made, which would be about twenty.
They are chocolate bars that have their own mold and recipe.
Think there's anyone who can do it? If so, how much do you think it will cost?
Thank you for your help

That is a relatively small order, especially the increments of 110. Over what period of time will those increments be spaced?
How complex is the recipe?
With what you have described so far I would suggest looking up your local chocolate company closest to you and ask them. They would probably love the business although it is now approaching holiday season when chocolate companies usually get very busy.

Well sir, I've contacted every confectionary, chocolate factory and candy shop around and they've all either not had the equipment, or did not want to use an outside recipe. It's a bit disappointing to find out how many places claim to make their own chocolate, when really it's just some pre-made Belgian mix that they meltdown and call their own. I'm looking for a place that takes order using other peoples recipes. The recipe isn't anything terribly difficult, Jamaican cocoa, cocoa butter, lechithin, powdered milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. It has a cookie dough filling, buts that's easier than the chocolate. Right now, I'm not sure what the order frequency will be.

Colonial Williamsburg, specifically William and Mary, there are three candy shop/confectioneries/chocolate shops within a mile of the campus and not a one can help.

Look for factories, not shops. Also, look for candidates in the industry publications.

Ask Ben at Potomac Chocolate in Virginia. He regularly posts on this forum.
