No idea about the Ultra but I can tell you I just ran my Premier 1.5L for 50 hours straight. No idea if it is advisable to do so, but it did it fine, did not overheat and while it got hot, was not overly so.

The Premier that you linked is not the one that most on this forum have been using. I believe that this is the correct one (and the one that I assume gap is using--gap: correct me if I'm wrong): www.amazon.com/Premier-Wonder-Table-Grinder-110v/dp/B004OPIBV2/ref=pd_sim_sbs_k_2That one has adequate ventilation to run continuously. The Premier that you linked doesn't appear to. Also, the Ultra Grind that you linked is the starting point for the CocoaTown ECGC-12SL: cocoatown.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=72&Itemid=85The ECGC-12SL has been modified for chocolate use, which mostly means that it has better ventilation through additional holes and an added fan. My guess is that you would burn up the motor in the Ultra Grind if used for chocolate, unless you also modified it for better airflow.

I have the same Premier 1.5 as gap (except in 240v) and can also confirm it runs fine without overheating. It's never got too hot to touch, and I've run it for closer to 72 hours a few times.

Hi, I guess you probably already bought your grinder but it might help others. I have the Ultra Grind+ unmodified, so I did the modification myself and it works without any overheating problem. I just made plenty of holes on the top plastic cover of the motor, raised it on a platform where I did a hole to fit a computer fan to extract the hot air from the motor. By doing that you save 160$ after buying the fan and the few thing you need for the modification.

Nice work Thomas! I got the smaller Ultra Pride. I just drilled the holes on top. Also raised the "legs". Have ran it for 14 hours straight. No problems so far.

48h straight no problem either! Thanks to Felipe on "Chocolate Life" forum, for giving all those very useful advises.

Good to know! I might have to put a fan to cool it to, then I'd dare to leave it running over night. That seems like a good idea.
