Can a coffee grinder really be used on nibs?
Do I need any special kind of coffee grinder? I am new at chocolate making, and want to give it a try without spending a lot of money right now. I do not have a champion, or any of the other gadgets/equipment some of you have. So, I am tying to figure which direction to go to at least try with some nibs. Any advice would really be appreciated.

it will only coarse grind it, which you can then use in your santha/ultra to polish. the coffee grinder on it's own won't grind to acceptable eating fineness.

More specifically, if you try a fine grind with a coffee grinder, the oils will cake up the burrs very quickly and you are done with nothing to show for it except a caked up coffee grinder that you need to usually take apart to clean.
A masticating juicer is the minimum - i.e. a central auger style juicer like the champion.
