Hi there. Am starting into home chocolate alchemy and am in need of equipment. Anyone out there have an old santha grinder they'd be willing to part with for a small fee?
Thanks!

i just tried this approach and it took about 2 days for me to break down and buy a new one from john..... they don't seem to come up for sale here too often...maybe ebay is a better option? good luck and you'll enjoy the chocolate, no matter what its texture is

hautechocolate, I might be able to put you in contact with someone with an Ultra grinder (deluxe) that they decided didn't fit their needs. E-mail me and I can check it out.

Hautechocolate:
I have a Santha wet Grinder that I purchased from Chocolate Alchemy in 2007.
I am now on a completely no-sugar, dairy-free diet and so chocolate has been pretty much off-limits to me. Nowadays, I use my Vitamix blender to make juice more than my Santha Wet Grinder for chocolates. The Santha grinder rarely makes its way out of my pantry anymore.
If you are interested in purchasing it, please let me know. It is used but comes together with the box and all the pieces. I don't think I still have the manual. My model does not have the built-in timer. I am flexible on pricing. I also have plastic candy molds and digital thermometers that I would throw it as I no longer use them. The color of the unit is maroon.
Alchemist John:
If there is anyone else you know of who might be interested in a used grinder (used perhaps 6 times but still in original condition) please let me know. It has been a fun hobby but unfortunately my health no longer permits me to partake. I think I still make chocolate maybe twice a year at best.
I also have a used Champion juicer (works great but not great cosmetically) that I no longer need.
Thanks.
Andy

John and Andy - are any of those Santhas or Ultras still available? At this point I'm interested in either one, since I don't have a preference between the two. Andy - did you ever retro-fit your Santha with the modifications to the motor housing? (i.e. cutting extra air intake holes?)
Thanks! JiLL
