I'm leaving tomorrow for Spain and France. The Spain portion of the trip is for sales/R&R. I have several appointments with chocolatiers, distributors and retailers in Madrid to drum up some interest for my bars.
The France part is the really fun, interesting portion. First, a few days in Paris to relax and visit some more chocolatiers.
Then I will be taking a Maitre Chocolatier course at Valrhona's Ecole du Grand Chocolat in Tain L'Hermitage. Finally will cap of the southern France part of the trip with a visit to Bernachon in Lyon.
Finally, back to Paris for some gastronomic debauchery, with reservations at Michel Rostang, Carre des Feuillants and Hiramatsu. Can you say "spare tire?"
I'll post up pics and reviews as soon as I de-jetlag.
