Hi everyone, i’m using my premier grinde right now and for some reason the pressure knob that i set according to instructions (as i always have) is twisting off slowly by itself as the machine is running. Any ideas what could cause this?

Also now hearing a high pitch whistling sound coming from the machine… i swear every day it’s something new with this thing🤣 i clean the wheels by disassembling them after every batch now, so i don’t think anything can be stuck in there like some other threads suggested.

LOL, sometimes it becomes very frustrating to do chocolate!! The squealing could be the belt or bearing in the motor. A foreign object could be in there, or the belt itself may need to be replaced. Unfortunately the only way to tell is to take it apart and run it with the top cover off. It's not hard to take apart. The whistle/squeal could also be something is rubbing under the drum itself. If you run it without the stones does it still whistle? As far as the pressure knob goes: if you tweak it down a little bit more does it still twist off? Sometimes we make them too loose and that happens. Play with the tension and see if anything changes.

Thanks Chip! The squeaking noise came and went and I went to sleep, I was too tired to deal with it. Then I woke up (4am here) to even more squeaking. I lifted the stone holder and to my surprise, the stones were stuck! Having had recent experience with this, I knew to punch them off and clean all the books and crannies, warm it up a bit and put it back in. All seems to be okay for now but only time will tell…
Though I wonder, how did anything get stuck in there DURING chocolate making? Cause I can swear I cleaned them VERY thoroughly before starting the process (and dried them). Hmm… maybe the mixture was too cold?

To be honest with you, it may be time to call DCM about this melange. In all my years using them (about 8 now) I have never had stones that wouldn't turn. Now, before you do, when you clean the unit after making a batch, do you remove the stone holder and the stones and clean them thoroughly? If you are "reusing" the holder and stones, what I mean is that you do not clean between batches and the stones/melange get cold, then I would suggest you clean after every batch.

So I have two machines, a wonder grinder i bought locally and an orange refiner with the stainless steel unit i bought from DCM. The DCM one failed in a different way (posted on another thread) on my first use and unfortunately they’ve been mostly ignoring me… so i have been stuck using the wonder grinder. I’m disappointed about DCM’s customer service to be completely honest… The wonder grinder is obviously isn’t built for this purpose and is probably why it’s giving me trouble. That said, I contacted the local store i got it from and they said they’ll replace the wheels and the stone holder. Also to your point, I disassemble and clean every piece between batches

I posted further email contacts and a phone number in your newest thread. I know how frustrating this can be. That's why I have all the email addresses.
