Hi all,
I did the dumbest thing I put milk powder straight from the bag into my Premier grinder, and it ran for a good 15 mins before I relalized a package of oxygen absorber was in it.
I googled and it seems iron oxides can be really toxic if ingested..
I washed the machine really well but i fear I might have damaged the grinder?
Maybe i’m being paranoid but i can kind of see minuscule dints on the drum. But i’m not sure, they might have been there before.
Do you guys reckon the device is still safe to use? Of course I got rid of the chocolate mixture..

First you need to determine if it was in fact iron oxide or silica gel, a desiccant. Contact the manufacturer of the milk powder and ask. Silica gel = you're all set.
On the other hand, if it truly was iron oxide, the bottom of the tub and the stones are granite. And granite is porous. If it was iron oxide, IF IT WERE ME, I would replace the tub and stones. Then I would wash the stone holder and anything else from the melange that is non-electric in the dishwasher on a long cycle. That would clean and sanitize it.

Thanks Chip. It was iron oxides Oh man, i didn’t think it was going to be that bad.. but i guess it’s the safer thing to do. What a waste though.
