I have made two batches of chocolate in my new Santha 40. I now notice the following: belt shavings (in the process of looking for a replacement), possibly grease coming from the center axle (not sure, it is always covered in chocolate but I think it is grease), and one of the paddles that guides the chocolate is missing the lower half and does not go to the bottom of the bowl (as a result the chocolate mass does not go under one of the grinding wheels). When I manually direct the mass under the wheels with a bowl scraper everything looks and sounds right (the machine is noisier and the chocolate spins out of the top when I don't direct the chocolate). I did not break the paddle, and did not notice this in my first batch, but have searched the house and did not find the potentially broken half. Anyone have any suggestions on how to repair the guide paddle or should I design a new replacement piece. Also I'm not sure about the grease issue and read somewhere else on the boards to tap it with a hammer, but I wasn't sure if this was for the spectra 10 and can be applied to all the models. Thanks. All the best, Jo

I noticed that our 40 has a half paddle too. It's perfectly cut, so it seems to be designed that way. I don't yet know how it behaves with chocolate because it spins too fast to contain it.
