I have wanted to learn to make chocolate for a long time, so now the question is how do I get started. I'm broke, and have no equipment, but I have a kitchen and I can atleast afford the ingredients, so where do I go from there?

Do you have a blender or food processor? Either one can liquefy the nibs, it will be very gritty, though. And I would suggest the food processor over the blender, I burned up the coupler on my blender because I didn't realize it got so hot. Is this what you were asking? As for the process, John's partner wrote a nice mini-pamphlet on it. chocolatealchemy.com/chocolate-making-at-home-101/Also, John's notebook pages are really great at helping you understand the process. www.chocolatealchemy.com/cocoabeans.phpThis link will start you at the beginning. Happy chocolate making! Andrea

You could also just buy liquor instead of trying to grind the beans down and make it from scratch.
You will still need some type of equipment for grinding the sugar particles down and so forth.
Unfortunately sometimes, there's no real way to make something decent without spending a bit of money.
