Dear John, I know that some people are unhappy with the search function in this forum. I personally never use it because I use the Google tool bar and just choose the option to search the "current site." However, it would be good to have a better search on the forum itself. Since Google is so good, would it be possible to get a Google search on the forum site. eGullet has done this: forums.egullet.org/index.php?showforum=3It works pretty well in my opinion. I tracked this down online: It would be nice, and I believe that it is free. Sincerely, Alan

Dear John,
Thanks again for the search box. Not to be picky, but is there any way to place the search box right below the "home, help, search, Members, etc." selections, and above the rest of the forum (maybe aligned to the right). This would make it much more visible for new and old members alike. I would imagine that many people might not see it down there.
Alan

Technically there is a way to alter the actual source code and make that happen, but I have yet to find out how to get it and where to upload it again. In my spare time If you care to look around the proboards help forum and tell me how, I would love to alter all the code and make it seamless the Chocolate Alchemy's main site. Positioning the search would be easy.

I did see how to add a google serach engine at the bottom, like you have done, but not at the top. Maybe someone else can figure it out. Alan

Don' t know how much control you have over the source of this site, but assuming you can position your code, it should be as easy as moving the below code toward the top of the source:
<center><form method="get" action="http://www.google.com/custom" target="_top"><table border="0"><tr><td nowrap="nowrap" valign="top" align="left" height="32"><a href="http://www.google.com/"><img src="http://www.google.com/logos/Logo_25wht.gif" border="0" alt="Google"></img></a></td><td nowrap="nowrap"><input type="hidden" name="domains" value="chocolatetalk.proboards56.com"></input><input type="text" name="q" size="31" maxlength="255" value=""></input> <input type="submit" name="sa" value="Search"></input></td></tr><tr><td> </td><td nowrap="nowrap"><table><tr><td><input type="radio" name="sitesearch" value="" checked="checked"></input><font size="-1" color="#000000">Web</font></td><td><input type="radio" name="sitesearch" value="chocolatetalk.proboards56.com"></input><font size="-1" color="#000000">chocolatetalk.proboards56.com</font></td></tr></table><input type="hidden" name="client" value="pub-4696585109196199"></input><input type="hidden" name="forid" value="1"></input><input type="hidden" name="ie" value="ISO-8859-1"></input><input type="hidden" name="oe" value="ISO-8859-1"></input><input type="hidden" name="safe" value="active"></input><input type="hidden" name="cof" value="GALT:#008000;GL:1;DIV:#336699;VLC:663399;AH:center;BGC:FFFFFF;LBGC:336699;ALC:0000FF;LC:0000FF;T:000000;GFNT:0000FF;GIMP:0000FF;FORID:1;"></input><input type="hidden" name="hl" value="en"></input></td></tr></table></form></center> <center><a href="http://www.proboards.com/adfree-signup.cgi?chocolatetalk.proboards56.com">Click Here To Make This Board Ad-Free</a></center><br />

Thanks Sabastian, but the problem is not having aceess to change the code. I have worked out (as you outlined) how to do it, just not how to up load my changes to the proboards server.
One day I will go find out.
