Have you guys considered throwing away your imperial system and using metric? If you can get scales that weigh in grams and kilograms you'd be a lot better off. All of your calculations would become straight forward. Just a suggestion. Incidentally, there isn't a laboratory in the world that uses pounds and ounces.

This is Alchemy - you know - the old ages. Be glad I don't post in stones/hogshead.
Seriously, part of goal here is approachability and whereas I think very well in both systems (I am Chemist also if people didn't know), many people in the USA don't. Metric would have people scanning and leaving in drove I bet.
That said, it is on my "to do" list to make both units available in recipes in the future. Beans will probably always be sold in pounds as that is how the shipping systems are set up and why complicate my life like that for no really great reason.

That makes sense alchemist, I see your point. I suppose I'm more lamenting the fact that I have to sit and convert all your recipes so that I can follow them, which is my problem for being born in the wrong place.

And I feel your pain. I will bump that up on the list to make multi-cultural measurements.
