Hello. I have currently two Santha 40 machines but we need to increase production times. Unfortunately, where I live the import duties double the cost of a new machine, and those funds aren't in the budget right now. I was looking at getting Feli 300 which is very similar to the FBM Grind Go, but half the price. Does anyone use these machines? www.felilook.com/products_detail_9.htmI was hoping it might take a day or half a day off the time in the santhas. Currently, we put nibs directly into the machines, which takes time. Thank you.

And lastly, the OldTime peanut grinders seem to be available used, would that work?

The main website recommends the use of the Champion Juicer for pre-refining nibs on a smaller scale. I don't have much equipment myself, much less the funds to purchase the machine you're looking at., but here's what I've found to be helpful in my early stages.
I warm up my nibs in the oven (150 degrees at most), then put them through my food processor for about a minute, then I take those smaller bits and put them in the melanger. I don't know how much time it saves, but it does reduce the strain on the melangers.
Additionally, it's really helpful to make sure everything you add is warm. It keeps the cacao butter liquid and moving.

I know some makers who use the Olde Tyne to pre-grind. Yes there are a lot of them available second hand in USA. Of course those second hand USA ones are made for USA electrical supply, so 110 V / 60 Hz. So unless your country also has 110 V / 60 Hz you can’t use those second hand units (been there tried that). If you search for Olde Tyme peanut grinder on Alibaba.com you can find Chinese peanut grinders, one of these might work for you. I purchased one of those a while back and it works well but the build quality is a bit dubious. You get what you pay for of course.
