Hi! I have recently noticed my spectra 11 isn’t grinding finely enough. I have changed the fan belt but it’s still the same! Any suggestions? Do I need to service the motor?

Is it spinning slower than before?

Is it spinning slower than before? Yeah I think it is! I usually grind on about half speed and it seems Slower.

I forgot that the spectra 11's are available with speed control. Can you just run it at a faster speed? Does the new belt need to be tightened?
How old is this grinder? I've found that over time they get a little less efficient and that I've needed to adjust my process a bit.

I'm no electrical engineer but I very much doubt the motor is running slower. I've found that wear to the granite rollers or their bushes can also lead to reduced refining efficiency over time. The slow speed sounds odd. As Ben mentioned, belt might need tightening. Also, maybe a bearing has worn out depending on how old your unit is.
