So I've been pretty lucky I think - my machine has worked flawlessly for 2 years up until now. I actually think the longevity was lowered when I started refiner larger batches for longer periods of time!
So for the longest time I would stick to 1-2 lb batches running for 24 hrs. I found that the chocolate can taste quite a bit better if I run for longer which I started to do, and I also started making bigger batches. I also noticed the bigger the batch the longer I would need to run for to get the same result (which makes sense).
The "batch that broke the belt" was a 6 lb batch of milk chocolate that had run for over 48 hrs when the belt finally gave out. I suspect that I was starting to push the envelope with this machine! I believe sticking to 4lb batches for no more than 48 hrs would probably lead to less wear.
Can anyone confirm this is the right belt? I'm guessing I should check a few other things under the hood like the bearings to make sure they aren't getting too worn. Any additional advice is very welcome!
Best to all, stay safe and stay healthy and most importantly have a great holiday season!

I ended up getting 3 belts that have the same model number as the original (Bestorq 3L150LG) from 3BG Supply. They are under $5 each but the shipping was about as much as the belts!
