Hi, I am now deciding on a small melanger and I am wondering if anyone has experience with Nemisto Cacao Melanger - nemisto.com/products/stone_grinding/nemisto_stylo_3_kgI see the producer is Santha, but I am not sure about the quality. I would love to buy a Spectra 11, however I am in Europe and delivery from the USA + customs and VAT will cost more than the machine itself. Any tips or experience sharing is highly appreciated! Thank you all

Hi cacaoparatodos,
The only tip I can give you is that I would advise you to not buy from the US. As you say, the shipping is costly, and most importantly, you won't get warranty on your items. Even though they might be willing to send you a free drum, you still pay the shipping which is more costly than the drum itself. Even though Santha and Premier are pretty established brands, if you read a bit around on the forums here, their delivered quality is not consistent. I have the same experience, having imported a Premier a few years ago. I have had three faulty drums delivered, and the bearing was very noisy from the start. So if you buy from Nemisto, make sure to check out their warranty policy. Another option might be Kadzama, they are based in Slovenia (inside EU). I have seen their unit in action on Chocoa in February of this year, in my eyes their refiner is very robust in comparison to my table top Premier. No plastic parts, strong motor and good cooling, strong spring system, etc. This was a 5 kg unit, so maybe the units from Premier and Santha in that capacity range are also very robust, but compared to my 2 kg unit, it really stands out.
I hope for you others can chime in with their experience with the Santha, there are lots of people that use it in the US.

Thank you cacaosublime, I will definetely check out the Kadzama brand. I know, it is better to order from EU because delivery and any parts will come cheaper afterwards.
