Hello everyone my name is Gustavo Woltmann and I am an assistant in a small publishers office. Just want to know where do the best cocoa beans came from? What are the brand of chocolates are made from these?

Hi Gustavo, It really depends on what you mean by the 'best'. My personal opinion is that there's no such thing as the 'best' cacao in the world. This is certainly simplifying the issue, but I think there is a good amount of excellent cacao from various origins that is being processed well, but once you reach a certain level of quality, the differences are in the flavor notes. And who is to say that the flavors that one person likes are better or worse than flavors that a different person prefers? I think the real joy of chocolate is trying a bunch of different bars made from different origins by different makers and finding the bars that you like best. -Ben

I agree with Ben. When it comes to food, the word "best" is purely a subjective opinion of the author. What's best to one is certainly not best to another.

It's like asking where do the best wine grapes grow. Good wine grapes grow in many places, just like good cocoa beans.
