Hi MB,
I have no experience with this roaster or any other coffee roaster. I make chocolate as a hobby and roast cacao beans in my convection oven. The Gene Cafe roaster seems very expensive for roasting cacao as it only has a 2 lb capacity. That's not very much cacao beans. How do you currently roast beans? I'm just curious. I typically roast 5 lbs in my oven but could do more. Although I do watch over them and stir periodically.
Regards,
Thomas

WOW - that is expensive. Especially relative to the Behmor that John sells

At the moment we are roasting samples in a domestic gas oven but we are doing this before launching a commercial operation. I wanted to run a roaster on regular basis daily so was looking initially at the behmor, which seemed a good starting point but is not certified for sale in Europe. Behmor have stated they won't be able get certification for at least another year. The CBR looked liked a potential and there is also another roaster, the Dalain Amazon that is an alternative www.bellabarista.co.uk/bellabarista-dalian-amazon-1-kg-roaster.html
