hello all,
i'm exploring ideas for starting my own business. i don't have the money to invest in a lot of equipment so for awhile i'm going to have to make due.
is it possible to get quality organic cocoa that is already ground? what i want to do is make the highest quality organic chocolate. start out very slowly...word of mouth sales perhaps. reinvest in equipment if i have any success.
can one make decent chocolate at home?
i'm sure i'm asking some dumb questions, but i'm literally just starting my thoughts on this right now.
thanks.

:)Hi. I'm new on this site as well, and I am also contemplating starting a chocolate business at home. So far, I've done web searches. Maybe you have too. I'm not into making doing stuff from the bean, because I'm limited in resource investment as well. Their are many good organic chocolate suppliers out there. I did a web search of them. The one I'm using for my "experiments" is Vintage Plantation Chocolate out of New Jersey. Their website is www.echocolates.com. They have "couverture" (in 2.2 pound packets) which I use in a handy little gadget that melts chocolate to just the right temperature. I know that A.C. Moore as something like it as well. I'm getting good comments from my "experiments." They also have organic cocoa butter. I find this very helpful because I don't want to get into the chocolate manufacturing business, I want to get into chocolate "making" business. Happy web searching. Hope this helps.
