I have an ACMC tempering machine that I’ve been using for 17 years without any issues... until now.
It seems to be losing its ability to keep a steady temperature. Where in the past once it was at temperature it kept things within a degree, it now seems to fluctuate by 2 or 3. And the reading on the machine does not match my thermometer. It’s also started making a weird intermittent clicking noise.
Is this fixable? Or is it time to say goodbye and get a new one?

17 years!?! That's amazing.
It may be that the temperature sensor or electronics need to be re-calibrated or replaced. My guess, however, is that the ACMC is not really built to be serviced in that way. I may be mistaken, but you may have to get a new one.
Have you reached out to ACMC about a repair?

Thanks Ben. I am honestly amazed at how long it has lasted. It’s a workhorse. I haven’t reached out to them yet. I will. I thought I’d check with others familiar with using it first - just in case there is a quick fix I wasn’t aware of. In the meantime I think I’ll just use it as a melter.

jnerissaI have an older one as well and I contacted the fellow who makes them. Give him a call, he is fantastic to deal with, super helpful and will help you diagnose what is going on. He has all kinds of spare parts as well. . Stay safe.
