Good news: I used my Champion Juicer for the first time yesterday.
Bad news: The screen and screen holder and snout wont assemble now.
I had fiddled with the parts when I got the Champion and they were difficult to assemble but now they just plain wont slide together. I have to press the screen slightly (bow it) to get it to fit into the screen holder.
The screen holder wont slide into the snout grooves. Reason? The flange on the screen interferes with the snout's slide.
Anyone know how to remedy this? I cant figure out how to make it fit and assemble.
To top it off the Champion site is dead. Must be they take their site off line on Sundays.

I had a similar issue after washing in warm water (oops). But it wasn't warped too bad. The trick with the assembly is to take a look at the screen holder. It has 2 grooves on it. If held with the grid part facing down the top groove is to slide on the snout and the bottom groove is for the screen. The Champion manual suggests to assemble by placing the blade on the driveshaft, then place the snout of the blade so that the chute is facing down. Place the screen on top of the snout's bottom opening and then slide the screen holder over the snout's lip. Since my counter is a little low, I've found it sometimes easier to assemble the thing off of the blade, where I can keep it almost at eye level. Maybe I can snap some pictures if I get a chance.

jamescary, could you take those snapshots and allow me to see them?
My first batch of milk chocolate is superlative! I'm gonna have to put it in a lock box - it is tempting to have "just one more small piece." Hopefully it was not beginner's luck.
I am running short on time to make some more milk chocolate before visitors arrive. I want to send them away with a supply of white and milk chocolate but cannot with the Champion out of commission.
This problem has me stymied. It is hard to imagine plastic creeping so much without some other distortion showing up. Yikes!
Anyone else have problems fitting the screen and screen-holder parts onto the snout?

Put the screen on the housing that slips over the rotating blades, and press it (it will have to be bowed slightly) until it fits tight, and only then slide the screen holder over it. If you try to put the screen in the holder first, then the flange will interfere. The Champion just plain isn't easy to put together, but nothing you are describing sounds odd to me. Try what I mention above and I think it might work for you.

choco-luvah - I finally got it. It took your words and jamescary's great photos, plus more description from the Alchemist to make it all clear. I had been putting the screen in the holder then attempting to slide those two parts on the snout. That does not work. It seems counterintuitive that putting the screen on the snout then sliding the holder over the screen will work if sliding the whole works onto the snout wont but I will never argue with success. I can imagine that this is a common problem so I hope that Champion will make assembly instructions a part of it's instructions that go out with the juicer. Failing that maybe the forum will have a handy copy for the next newbies. Referencing it from the Equipment page for the Champion would be super. Thanks for the help guys!

I also had trouble with it when I first got it, so it isn't just you.
