Hi there - I just had a look at the CHoc maker upgrade but i'm not entirely sure what it is that's being offered? I mean...I can see there are stone wheels, cap, drum etc, but I don't understand how they upgrade the machine. Could you explain it a little more?  Also - I have the tilting version - does the kit work on that? I'm assuming so. |

The Chocolate Refiner was created to take the best of the Premier Wonder Grinder and make upgrades that are most helpful for chocolate makers. I am a chocolate maker that works with these machines daily. We took feedback from a lot of chocolate makers (even from John). We looked at ware and replacement part orders. We looked at what would be the best materials to use and which ones needed improvements for the longer run times for chocolate making. The gears have been upgraded and are more robust, the belt is now made out of Polyurethane for longer ware and there are fully sealed ball bearings (much better for dealing with cocoa butter). It's Erin again.
There's now an even better Kevlar belt that available on my website (http://indichocolate.com). Much longer wearing and It now comes with the Chocolate Maker Upgrade along with more robust gears and fully sealed bearings.
The replacement sizes for the 1.5L (Wonder) machines are the same size. For the 2L machines, you'll want to specify if you want replacement parts for the Tilting or LoPro models.
If you want the upgrades already in the machine, you'll want to but the Premier Chocolate Refiners on my site instead of the Premier Grinders. The Grinder warranty no longer covers chocolate making, only the Chocolate Refiner does.
The Chocolate Refiners are being upgraded all the time and they now have an excessive heat shut off switch to give us all more piece of mind when we leave them running for so long.

Erin, have you thought about using a timing belt in these machines? I upgraded one of mine to use a chain drive, but firstly it was far too noisy, and secondly the chain wouldn't go tight enough, so it actually wore out the gear teeth. I put those upgrades in a drawer |

The Kevlar belt is working really well for me know. It also seems a lot quieter than anything I've used before.
