Okay... I have been searching for companies that manufacture chocolate bar slips (you know, the label that goes above the foil that 'slips' on) and foil wrapping supplies. Also does anyone know some sales software that will be suitable for a gourmet chocolate business? And finally, does anyone know where you can get custom made chocolate transfer sheets Thanks appreciate any answers.

Laba47; Aluminum foil: www.Alufoil.com in the US is great to work with. Slips: My bars are VERY unique. I ended up having a printing company make mine. Most small chocolatiers do the same. transfer Sheets: Not sure about that, as I don't use them. Cheers. 'Choklat'

Slips, as Brad says, easier to have made by a local printer. Sales software I just bought a generic, local management and sales package and had it customized to my needs. Another foil source is Revere Group, they also sell bags, and other packaging material. www.glerup.comCustom transfer sheets can be bought from Cheap Transfer Sheets ( www.cheaptransfersheets.com ) or Chef Rubber ( http://www.shopchefrubber.com).

I get my foil from Alufoil too. They make foil for everyone...and my shop happens to be 20 minutes from their warehouse. The paper we have printed and print and cut in house. We use a glue runner to seal them.

Cheebs and Brad,
Do you guys design the way you want your slips/bands to look and then take them to a local printer to show them? Also, I know prices vary tremendously, however about how much do you pay per say like 100?
Do you think it would be cheaper to just get paper and cut them all to the right size myself and then print onto each sheet myself?

If you're only doing 100, it would probably be cheaper to just print them yourself. I do a lot more than that and still print them myself (although, I'm about to start having them printed professionally).
I'd suggest printing them before cutting, though, as it's easier to print on an 8.5x11" sheet than a custom size. Also, you can probably get two wrappers per sheet. For cutting, I'd get a good guillotine paper cutter. I've been using the same one for years now and have never had a problem with it.

Very cool, thank you Ben! I appreciate the info. That is what I was thinking as well . Eventually I would like to go with a professinal printer but in the mean time I can easily do it myself. Just trying to find the right paper. Thank you for the tip about the paper cutter you use . Does anyone ever do chocolate swaps on here?

eBay often has the cheapest stuff, if that's your main goal.

I use 32-lb glossy stock from Red River Paper. Not exactly cheap but affordable for small runs, and the lightest glossy paper available.
