Hello to everyone,
I have a question to ask about cacao beans prices.
The price of cacao beans on Alibaba is $ 300 to $ 500. (1 metric ton) Some farm cacao beans prices are $ 5000 to $ 8,000. (1 metric ton) The stock market price is $ 2300. (1 metric ton)
How can such different prices be possible? Are the cocoa beans sold through Alibaba too bad?
What type of cocoa beans are used in the chocolates sold in supermarkets? e.g. Milka, Lindt, Hershey's.
Thanks in advance.

$300 for cocoa beans on alibaba? I don't need to know the details to tell you that this is not a good idea. It's like finding a listing for a new ferrari online for $1000. Somethings wrong. Some beans are definately worth the multiple, as they'll be a much higher, fine flavor grade bean. ALWAYS get a sample of your beans before you commit to purchasing them.

You have to be careful with this. Very often, you'll find shipping and importing costs to be more extensive than what you see on-line. The market price is a better indicator of actual pricing at the farm/yard than anything else. Remember, we are making food for people and there are some costs that are pretty fixed.

You should always remember that "you get what you pay for." Especially with price variations like that.
