I am currently in conversation with Jimmy from Diamond Custom Machines. Here is a quote of what he sent me on using the V-belts.
"Just a note on the V belts, we actually used to use those in our refiners. The manufacturer recommends the minimum pulley diameter at 2", while our pulleys are about half that size.
Because of this, the pulley cannot withstand the stress generated by the refiner, and that causes the belt to fail prematurely.
We strongly do not recommend using these belts."

Interesting. I've been using them for quite a while in my little premiers and haven't had any problems. It may indeed be the case that they fail prematurely due to the small pulley size, but that hasn't been my experience. In either case, though, the issue you experienced is definitely because you had the belt installed backwards.

Yeah, that's kind of the story of my life! I just ordered this and hope it will work as well as yours does.

I've used both that one and the PowerTwist. They're basically the same thing and I've had similar results with each.
