I have just about completed my build of the sylph winnower. I noticed that I accidentally made a change during construction. I accidentally positioned the intake & the valve in opposite positions. I can fix by cutting a new board if those positions are critical for performance. See attached pics. Also, I had a tough time understanding how to implement the deflection disk I have included a pic of that as well. Does it look right? thanks In case the pic uploads don't come thru heres the link www.use.com/xlV5

I don't think swapping the intake and discriminator valve positions on the board will cause problems.
Did you cut the top off the deflector disk? It looks like it's in the right position, but I'd flip it over so the round part is pointing up.

I used this today & it worked well. One thing though, the shells were caught in the bucket not in the vac...is that the way its supposed to work? If not maybe I have my 90s in the bucket aimed the wrong way. I aimed them all in the same direction thinking it would create a spinning vortex of air as it hit the edge of the bucket. ALso, they are all about the same depth. Maybe its more complicated & they should be at differnt depths and directions. Or maybe I have it right

The shells should be caught in the bucket to prevent them from clogging the shop vac, so I think you have it right.
