Hi All, I am from Australia and I am only new to chocolate making (haven't even made a batch yet) and was wondering if there were any other Aussies on this site for getting help with searching out suppliers over here, etc. Thank you

Good to see another Aussie around. I have gotten beans from John, who runs this forum and they are great. I also get beans from a company called Nui, they source from Vanuatu and Fiji, contact them and ask what they can do for you for 10kg lots.

Yeh ;D there is another Aussie..................... How is your chocolate making going, I am so looking forward to giving it ago.
Do you remember how long it took for the beans to arrive and were you able to track them once they left the States? as I think my first order of beans might be missing. And thank you for the name of the other company that also supplies.

I would never ever go back to not making chocolate. Hooked on my first batch, which was probably pretty shabby compared to what I make now. I have been making for (I think) 4 years now, pretty much every weekend and cooking with the chocolate in between. Amazing stuff, fun and edible learning curve. Enjoy!
John is pretty good on the shipments, I have never bothered to track. You may experience customs issues, just because they love to hold stuff up. However, Johns professional packaging should get them through, you may have to ring them if you get a held notice and just explain that they are 'fermented' cacao beans and they are fine to import. Bare in mind though the customs strikes we had recently, it is probably in the back log. I just got sent some from a guy in the Philippines and it took over two weeks - I was getting worried but all was well last Thursday.
There are a few other Aussies on here. There are also a few bean to bar choc makers you may not have heard of that may interest you to compare your stuff with as you go. They are Cicada Chocolate, Zokoko, Monsieur Truffe and Daintree Estates.
Have great fun

Thank you........ I will go searching and see if I can find them to try, I just purchased online some chocolate called 'Conscious Chocolate' all natural, no sugar made out of Melbourne also really good, even without the sugar.
I ended up calling America this morning and received an update saying that my beans just cleared customs on the 6th Oct, before today I hadn't heard anything since the 30th Sept, so fingers crossed it will arrive soon.
